Kimberly writes fiction for children and teens and her Young Adult novel (Touching the Surface—Simon Pulse, Simon & Schuster) was the 2016 Alice Curtis Desmond Award winner. Kimberly regularly volunteers at her local library, mentoring readers and coaching the middle-school and high school Mid-Hudson Battle of the Books teams. She is also the former NY: Eastern Upstate Co-Assistant Regional Advisor for the SCBWI and continues to be a local volunteer. Kimberly has an M.A. in Special Education from the University of Arizona, but her biggest accomplishment is keeping three boys alive into legal adulthood. In the 90s she spent four years living in Augsburg, Germany, as a military spouse, but now she and her husband live in New York’s gorgeous Hudson Valley with lots of time in nearby New York City. She’s represented by Michelle Wolfson of Wolfson Literary Agency and adores being part of the Wolfpack. Kimberly’s favorite pastime—besides eating chocolate ice cream—is finding her spark and sharing what she discovers.
