Late Happens in My World

Yeah, I’m late. Not a new experience by any means, but disconcerting despite it’s familiarity. I think I have all my ducks in a row and suddenly BAM! I don’t. And for just a moment the panic slips in and I think…it’s a blog post. No lives have been lost, no puppies have been kicked and Monday will be another opportunity to not be late…maybe.

Are you often late? Completely annoyed by people like me who fly by the seats of their very unorganized pants? Do you have legitimate reasons for running around like a chicken with your head cut off (or at least believable ones…like three young boys?) Or can you juggle whatever’s on your plate making me look completely incompetent? Come on…Time to confess.

  1. I never used to be late for anything, but as I get older I keep running later and later. It’s a weird phenomenon and it used to drive me crazy, but I figure there are so many worse things than being late. Besides, with all of us late runners, pretty soon we’ll be the ones on time and others will just be early :0)

    • So…at the rate I’m going I’m bound to one day catch up with myself LOL! I like that. :o)

  2. I hate hate hate being late, but I am quite frequently in the everyday stuff because of the kids. Kids have no sense of urgency whatsoever. If it were just me, I’d be early or on time for everything because I hate making other people wait for me! One thing I am really careful about is not blowing professional deadlines. I’ll stay up all night, lose sleep, drink tons of coffee, and drive myself ragged to hit a deadline. Will I do that to get my kid to the doctor on time? Not so much 🙂

    • Ha! I hate being late for that stuff more too. *grin*

  3. You know what? You’re right–it’s a blog post. If sometimes you’re late, or even don’t get one up at all…well, that’s okay. Especially when you’re a mom with three young boys. You readers will understand. 🙂

    • I agree–but I do have to say that giving myself a schedule has been a good way to go. It helps me a lot because I think of it as a job. But holiday weekends always seem to screw me up. I better get on my game now for the beginning of July.

  4. Today I found out someone ordered one of my zines on esty….a month ago! I am so horrified that I hadn’t checked for orders in so long.

    • Congrats on the order and thank you for making me feel normal LOL!

  5. Late is okay! Especially for something like a blog post 🙂 Then again, I’m always the girl who runs shoeless through the airport in hopes of not missing her flight, so I might be the worst person to ask about that.

These past two months, I felt so. damn. guilty. for neglecting my blog, but health and other commitments (including family “stuff”) just had to come first. I don’t have a huge number of readers, but the ones who stick with me understood.

    • I can picture you in the airport *chuckle*

      • Usually the barefoot run is followed by hopping on one foot while trying to slip a shoe on the other foot and hand my ticket to the counterperson just before they close the door. Sometimes while still trying to stuff my liquids baggie back in my carry-on.

I’ve only missed my flight… twice. And I blame both of those times on long security lines. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
