Last night I was in the car with the boys, listening to music, when a certain song came on. I immediately looked at the 12yo, pointed my finger and declared that THIS song had a line in it that was my favorite line in any song–ever.
There’s something so intricate, yet simple about it, I can’t help but be startled by it’s magic every time I hear it.
We’ve got everything we need right here and everything we need is enough.
That’s the kind of sentence I aspire to write. That’s the kind of Saturday morning pancakes I want in my life. Just thirteen words–how is it possible that it paints such a colorful picture and evokes so much emotion? And then the melody and the voice…
What’s your favorite line out of any song you’ve ever heard and why does it speak to you.
I love the line “In this world full of people there’s one loving me” in Ben Haenow’s cover of the One Republic song ‘Something I Need’ – totally different to the original! My favourite line is “Your worth is worth nothing when it’s at someone else’s cost” from ‘Push Me To The Floor’ by a South African Band The Parolotones.
Love both of those–will have to check them both out. :o)
I can’t believe I spelt their name wrong (hangs head in shame!) It’s The Parlotones 🙂
Hahaha!
In the song, Say Something by Brave New World, I love the line that goes:
You’re the one that I love and I’m saying goodbye…
It just screams supreme sacrifice to me and I played that song on loop while writing Nothing Left to Burn.
That song is so haunting!!!!
Aspie ppl communicate best through music, so I have a lot. Couple coming to mind today tho are Bang A Gong ~T-Rex “Well you’re built like a car, you got a diamond star hubcap halo, you’re dirty sweet and you’re my girl,” Love it, and always loved it because it was how my.Bel ated and I related in our mutual love of cars and adoration for each other. The other would beJourney’s Don’t. Stop Believing, because of the line, “Some are born to sing the blues,.” Again because my Belated who adpted the Blue name to support me professionally, used to quote it whenever we were trying “c’est la vie” anything, good or bad that we were dealing with or processing in our lives. We were The Blues and we would sing it proudly and go on.
Awesome ones! I know you’re missing him (((((hugs)))))
Ok, One Republic’s Feel Again … “milion dollar phone that ust won’t ring” … because. 😉
