Wordless Wednesday (Almost)–Team Tipping the Surface in Action!

Filed under: Booksellers, Check-it-out, Community, In the Wild, Team Tipping the Surface, Touching the Surface, YA Books, Young Adult (YA)

It’s Wordless Wednesday and I thought this was appropriate because I was speechless yesterday when I found out that my local B&N had a Preemie. TOUCHING THE SURFACE hit the bookshelves early and people were buying my book!!!! I have photographic proof. Then, to top off that amazing news, Team Tipping the Surface (all the folks working extra hard to tip TOUCHING THE SURFACE into going viral, was in action at dance class last night. Everyone has their T-shirts ready to go!!!! I’ll shut up now. I’m totally wordless–for now. *grin*

Would You Like Some TOUCHING THE SURFACE Swag?

Filed under: Contests, Touching the Surface, YA Books, Young Adult (YA)

OMG!!! It’s 66 days until the book launch of TOUCHING THE SURFACE and I feel like I have a fluttering flock of origami cranes in my belly. I can barely contain myself. I doubt anything is going to stop the feeling of sweet anticipation–not that I really want too–but I thought I could at least try to share a little bit of my excitement with you by giving away swag packets to almost anyone who wants them. I say “almost” because I’ll absolutely try to accommodate everyone who is interested, but if I start to get too many requests (a fabulous problem, no?) I’ll have to cap it off to make it manageable. *fingers crossed*

Unfortunately, this event is only going to be open to mailing addresses in the US. Additionally, if you’re a teacher or a librarian and you’d like a class set/book club set of swag, please include how many people you will be sharing with. Here’s how it’s going to work…

I would really like to get the word out about TOUCHING THE SURFACE, so in the comments, please tell me where you reposted or shared the link to this blog. You don’t have to attach your link or anything–I’ll believe you. Besides, if you’re willing to lie to get my swag–that also makes me feel kind of good. But I do encourage you to be a moral and upstanding human being. *grin*  And just so you know, your dedication to spreading the word doesn’t even have to be on line, you can also let me know that  you’ve shared it with your teenage niece on your Uncle Ted’s side of the family–you know the one with the extra toe. *grin*  I’m just appreciative of you giving me a shout-out.

MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION IN YOUR COMMENT!!!! I’LL THEN EMAIL YOU TO GET YOUR MAILING INFORMATION.

Oh, and I have a magic number in mind–I can do that–I write fiction. If that magic number gets hit, one participant will earn a very cool bonus prize!!!! It will be a good one–I promise. *squee*

Thanks so much for participating. Now it’s time for me to shut up so you can start. On your mark, get set…GO!

Simon Pulse – Simon and Schuster

Life altering mistakes are meant to alter lives…

When Elliot dies for the third time, she knows this is her last shot. There are no fourth-timers in this afterlife, so one more chance is all she has to get things right. But before she can move on to her next life, Elliot will be forced to face her past and delve into the painful memories she’d rather keep buried. Memories of people she’s hurt, people she’s betrayed…and people she’s killed.

As she pieces together the mistakes of her past, Elliot must earn the forgiveness of her best friend and reveal the truth about herself to the two boys she loves…even if it means losing them both forever.

Before I get to my “Road Block” *giggle* I thought I’d share my cover proof with you…

Okay–it’s time for your Road Block, but I won’t make it too hard because I know you’re on your way to the next Pitstop. If you decide to stop and play, you have the opportunity to win a Pre-order of TOUCHING THE SURFACE (Sorry I don’t have any ARCs–they locked them all away because they know I’d give them out in about 30 seconds LOL! All requests for ARCs must be placed through Simon Pulse.) Of course when I send the winner their pre-order confirmation information–I’ll be throwing in some swag. Don’t forget to make sure that your comment has a viable email contact included. (You can’t win if I can’t reach you.) And yes, this contest is open internationally.

So, your question is…

WHAT IS IT ABOUT TOUCHING THE SURFACE THAT INTRIGUES YOU THE MOST? It can be the cover, the synopsis, or even how the story line or characters relate to something in your own life. I’m just curious to know what makes you curious about my book.

Lastly, don’t forget to get your next clue…You’re off to see Shelley Coriell debut author of WELCOME CALLER, THIS IS CHLOE. What are you waiting for…GO!!!!!

New York City Mash-Up!

Filed under: The Class of 2k12

Galavanted around New York City with the family this weekend and saw all kinds of cool things, but this was one of my favorites.  Every time I passed by this building– I grinned like a damn fool.

In case you can’t see what I’m standing in front of it’s…

The home of Simon Pulse!!!! I seriously had to refrain from telling EVERYONE on the street that I work there!!!! (Even though I’ve never been inside LOL!)

Yeah, it’s a cool building in and of itself, but it’s also right by Radio City Music Hall and Magnolia Bakery.  (Yup–I had a chocolate cupcake.)  Honestly, if it had been an episode of Glee I would have totally broken out into a song and dance.  :o)
Although I was tempted to stand on the Avenue of the Americas all day and pet the building,  I didn’t and because I’m so diversified, I saw lots of great things that were not called Simon & Schuster.

The view from Hubby’s job–Ground Zero and the Freedom Tower.

More of the New York sky line.
The Brooklyn Bridge.

These locks were on the bridge and they just captured my attention.

View from the Brooklyn Bridge.

The Apple Store down in the Meat Packing District.

The windows were plastered with messages and memorials.

From inside the apple store…

We did lots more good stuff.  Visited friends, saw a show, ate great food, walked our butts off and laughed so much.  But as much fun as it was I always love coming home and home is even better when you find great mail.  A bag of swag arrived from the class of 2k12.

Loving it!

Bookmarks–front and back.  With my name and title on them!  *squee*

Pins and guitar picks.

And don’t for get the pens.
And now I’m off to bed…to sleep in and recover from a wonderful weekend.  Happy Columbus Day!
