A Little Vintage John Green for your Monday Morning

Filed under: Book Reviews, Check-it-out, Pondering, YA Books, Young Adult (YA)

I stumbled upon this and found it closely reflected my own thoughts on Twilight and it made me laugh…

For the old people LOL! What was the Twilight when you were a kid? I think it may have been Flowers In The Attic. What do you think is the new Twilight? 50 Shades would be my guess, but hmmm makes me wonder what’s coming next. These things are never predictable. Favorite part of this video? Hand’s down–John’s wife LOL! Now go forth and survive your Monday.

  1. I read the first Twilight book and enjoyed it. I personally don’t understand why so many people put it down. It was an enjoyable YA romance, nothing more, nothing less.

    • I stayed up reading until 2am–I won’t lie. I think we should read broadly and read what we like. Agreed!

  2. LOL!! Yeah, if only my husband would sparkle in the sunlight too! 😛 J/K

And yeah..my guess would be 50 Shades of Grey, too?

Thanks for the RT, btw, hun! <333

  3. Oh my, this video needs a spew warning. Too funny, especially the input from his wife on whether we women need big strong men to protect us–“obviously not.”

I love his take on the series and his opinion there’s room for all kinds of books. I roll my eyes every time I hear another veteran author going off on the Twilight series because it doesn’t have a deeper message or theme. He said it perfectly here–sometimes we just want to be entertained and Twilight did an excellent job in that respect.

Not sure what the next Twilight will be, but it sure will be interesting to see how they bring 50 Shades to the screen. 😉
    Thanks for sharing this!

  4. Spew warnings are very important LOL!

  5. […] Kimberly Sabatini: She shared John Green’s YouTube review of the books. The review made me laugh out loud and I was happy to find I’m not the only one who enjoys the books for sheer entertainment, no deeper message needed. […]
