Friday Mash-up: FAQ’s, 2k13, Tini Stuff and More

October 12, 2012 |

Whoops! I need to update the frequently asked questions section of my website and I really don’t know where to begin. Lately I’ve answered soooo many questions about myself and the book while doing pre-launch interviews, but I’m kinda wondering–since you actually visit my website–what questions you think should be added. Just the FAQ’s  There are so many possibilities, I don’t know where to start…about me, about the book, on the craft of writing and even on my experiences in publishing. While you’re thinking that over, check this out…

The Class of 2k13 has officially launched!

Clicking on their new logo will take you to the brand new Class of 2k13 website. While you’re there, checking out all the cool new authors and their books, be sure to stop and enter their Launch Giveaway!!!!

Wait…I’ve got more…

This week I got a fabulous little gift from my friend Ida. I just have to share it with you…

The first part of the awesome gifty is this fabulous crane.

Next comes these witty little napkins. Okay they’re talking about cocktails, but secretly the universe knew what it was talking about, right? Well, at least Ida did. LOL! Too stinkin’ cute.

Best part is that the crane is a napkin holder for the Tini napkins!!!! They will reside in my new office, that still has one, sort-of-big pile in the corner preventing me from showing it off to you. Soon or never but whatever. LOL!

These little diddys also arrived. The name plates are here!!! If you’ve bought a book and would like a signed name plate for it–you have stumbled upon the right blog post!

And the T-shirts are here too!!!! They are sitting on the bed with my writing buddy, Beans. I already have a winner from the last T-shirt contest. But I’ve got an idea brewing for next week…*waggles eyebrows*

Okay–that’s all I’ve got. Don’t forget to leave me an idea or two for my Frequently Asked Questions Page. You guys are lifesavers. Unless you want to be Gummy Bears or Hershey’s Kisses–completely up to you.

Kiersten White is Gonna Play Mind Games with You

October 5, 2012 | , , , ,

Get out your TBR list because MIND GAMES by my Wolf Pack sistah Kiersten White needs to be on it!

Fia was born with flawless instincts. Her first impulse, her gut feeling, is always exactly right. Her sister, Annie, is blind to the world around her—except when her mind is gripped by strange visions of the future.

Trapped in a school that uses girls with extraordinary powers as tools for corporate espionage, Annie and Fia are forced to choose over and over between using their abilities in twisted, unthinkable ways…

or risking each other’s lives by refusing to obey.

In a stunning departure from her New York Times bestselling Paranormalcy trilogy, Kiersten White delivers a slick, edgy, heartstoppingly intense psychological thriller about two sisters determined to protect each other—no matter the cost.

MIND GAMES the first in a new series, is out in February, 2013.
An Egyptian mythology based standalone, The Chaos of Stars, follows in fall 2013, with the sequel to Mind Games in February, 2014.
MIND GAMES is available for pre-order here:

*Barnes & Noble

Kimberly’s Review:

I’ve erased this review like ten times because I’m having trouble. When I say that MIND GAMES is not the Paranormalcy Trilogy, I find myself stuck in an endless loop because I loved the Paranormalcy Trilogy, so I don’t want you to think for a minute that this is better, because it isn’t better–but yet–its better. *sheesh* The most accurate thing I can say is that Kiersten White has only begun to play mind games with her readers. It is evident by this unique, exciting and riveting book that White has just proven she’s not a one trick pony. She’s tiny like a pony–but she has lots of tricks and I love them. I love them so much, I want the sequel to this book NOW! So much so, I’m going to start harassing my agent to automatically put me on the top of the ARC list for MIND GAMES #2. Make a list. Check it twice. I’d better be on it. I know you hate me because it isn’t February yet, and you’re justified, but guess what–I’m not even a little bit sorry, because yeah, it was that good. LOL!

Kiersten White is the NYT bestselling author of the Paranormalcy trilogy. She has one tall husband and two small children and lives near the ocean, where her life is perfectly normal. Visit her at www.kierstenwhite.com.
You can find out more about Kiersten White and her novels MIND GAMES, The Paranormalcy Trilogy and The Chaos of Stars here:
Can’t wait for you guys to read it. Have there been any of you favorite authors who have written a successful book or series that you’ve loved and then gone on to do something completely different? Was it as good? Did it not resonate with you? Maybe it was better? I’m looking forward to checking out the CASUAL VACANCY by JK Rowlings–it’s on my night stand. Anyone else read it yet? What do you thin about authors who surprise you?
And in case you didn’t get to see it…look what I got in the mail yesterday!!!!! Only 24 Days!!!!
And don’t forget, you still have time to pre-order TOUCHING THE SURFACE and get a chance to win a TTS T-shirt. Just leave your info HERE!

The Opposite of Book Banning is PROMOTION!

October 3, 2012 | , , , , , ,

It’s Banned Books Week!

I usually get all sappy, talking about this topic, but today I’m going to keep it light. You didn’t know I had it in me, did you? LOL!

What is the opposite of banning a book?  PROMOTION!!!! Every time you spread the word about a book you love, you help to marginalize the impact of narrow minds. It gives me tingles just thinking about it. So, this week I’m encouraging you to spread the word about books you love–particularly those that are banned. *rifles through drawer to find banned books bracelet*

And because it’s October and TOUCHING THE SURFACE launches in 26 days!!! *jaw drops* I’m running a little contest that will help me with my own promotion. I just ordered TOUCHING THE SURFACE T-shirts and they should be here in about 2 weeks. I’m giving one away on Facebook and one here on the blog. If you pre-order a copy of TOUCHING THE SURFACE between now and the time the T-shirts arrive, you’ll be eligible to win one. Here’s what they are going to look like…

All you have to do to be entered is let me know the date you pre-order SURFACE and also let me know what your favorite banned book is. Feel free to write it in caps so I know you’re shouting it to the world. <3  Additionally, if you share this blog post–leave me the link and you’ll get an extra entry.
